In this Support worker role, you will aid a young person with 2:1 or 1:1 support, encouraging independent living skills and integrating as effectively as possible both in group situations and on his/ her own. We are looking to recruit two Day Care Support Workers. Do you know anyone who would be suitable to join you? You will be supporting learning activities with other young people, either 1:1 or in a group setting; To assist in the required area of the young person. (e.g. speech, language and communication, reading, personal and intimate care etc.) Liaise with Coordinators, Leads and our management team to ensure effective and productive daily tasks are carried out efficiently. Ensure our children and young people are able to use the equipment and materials provided safely. MIH is in a rural setting between Borough Green and Crouch where they have woodland walks and some animals the young people like to feed. The role involves outdoor work, and these young people will keep you busy all day, so the job requires some physical robustness. Ideally, the candidate will have some/ all of the following experience: Experience working with children and young people with Special Educational Needs. Social care support/Youth work/Community work background Experience working with ASC, Learning disabilities, SEN students and/or challenging behaviour. Knowledge of many different types of learning difficulties and disabilities. Experience in personal and intimate care Experience is preferred in speech, language, and communication aids such as AAC, Makaton, PECs, and/ or SCERTS.
