Detailed job description and main responsibilities
The post consists of 48 hours per week when working full time (45 clinical and additional 3 hours of educational development time). Additional time can be allocated from clinical hours to support clinical fellow projects in education and SIM, research, leadership, and any other projects depending on personal interests. We also welcome applications from those looking for less than full time posts.
Person specification
Experience and Qualifications
Essential criteria
1. Basic Medical Degree
2. Full GMC Registration with a licence to practice
3. Advanced Life Support Certificate from the Resuscitation Council UK or equivalent
Desirable criteria
1. Additional post-graduate qualification in critical care including ECHO/USS qualifications
2. Advanced Trauma Life Support, Advanced Paediatric Life Support or equivalent
3. FRCA Primary /MRCP/MRCS/MCEM A B C or appropriate specialist qualification
Clinical Skills and Experience
Essential criteria
1. Must have completed Foundation Training in the UK or equivalency including CREST
2. Previous acute medicine/ED/ICU/anaesthetics experience but only at SHO level (this post is not suitable for those with more than 1 year of previous critical care experience)
Desirable criteria
1. Desire to work in the Critical Care for future career
Organisation and Planning
Essential criteria
1. Understanding of: NHS / Clinical governance / Resource constraints
2. Demonstrates an ability to organise and prioritise
Desirable criteria
1. Evidence of managerial skills: Achievements / Course attended
