Job Title: Cnc Programmer
Dayshift: 08:00am - 17:00 (Mon/Thu), 08:00am - 01:00pm (Fri)
Main Purpose and Scope of Job:
Program 3 axis to 5 axis milling machines using the most cost-effective and efficient methods. Optimise both new and legacy programs. Assist machining technicians in delivering parts safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality. Control program infrastructure adhering to AS9100D accreditation. Support continuous improvement and reduction of waste. Closely support the production team to achieve maximum RFT & OTIF on all parts. Design and introduce versatile fixturing elements. Optimise tool life and introduce new tooling and cutting techniques. Assist manufacturing engineers in planning work to deliver the best manufacturing methods.
Knowledge & Skills:
1. Experience of CNC machining in a precision engineering environment.
2. High level of CNC programming competency in Fanuc and Heidenhain languages.
3. Programming experience in both turning and milling capabilities, ideally up to 5 axis (3+2), with strong knowledge of setting, operating, and programming.
4. Experienced in 3D modelling, preferably with Solidworks and Visi.
5. Offline programming; familiarity with VISI CAM package is highly desired.
6. Knowledge of tooling and fixtures, in addition to lean manufacturing principles, to aid process improvements and efficiencies in machining capabilities.
Qualifications & Experience:
1. HNC in Mechanical Engineering.
2. Demonstrable knowledge of ISO9001 & AS9100 Standards.
3. Experience within Aerospace & Automotive industries.
4. Experience of APQP/PFMEA.
5. Knowledge of machine inspection techniques.
6. Able to use and adapt to different CAD/CAM packages.
7. Able to operate and set different machine tools.
8. Computer literate in MS Word and Excel.
