Job Purpose:
The EV Business Development Manager role is part of the “specialist” EV & Infrastructure sales team, which is responsible for developing new business opportunities and sales revenues for the company’s LV Power Distribution solutions within EV & Infrastructure sectors. The role focusses on electrical infrastructure providers and installers, and charge point operators.
As part of a new strategic initiative the role will ensure sales and profitability targets are met for the company’s EV & Infrastructure focused products and solutions in line with the organisations medium term plan.

Lucy Zodion is an industry leader in advanced street lighting controls, power distribution and electric vehicle (EV) supply solutions. Our products assist customers with energising urban and highways infrastructure from the ground up. Our range includes photocells, power distribution enclosures, EV connection feeder pillars, isolators, cut outs and switchgear.
Job Context:

As part of a new strategic initiative the role will ensure sales and profitability targets are met for the company’s EV & Infrastructure focused products and solutions in line with the organisations medium term plan.
Job Dimensions:
* The role reports into the company’s Head of Sales.
* The role will be field based with regular visits to customer sites and offices.
* Occasional visits to Lucy Zodion Head Office (Sowerby Bridge) and other Group Offices will be required to support customer visits.
* Occasional visits representing the company at events and exhibitions will also be required.
Key Accountabilities:
These will include:
* Support the development of the company’s EV sales strategy and lead the implementation of sales and customer led initiatives.
* Exceed short, medium, and long-term sales revenue and profitability targets.
* Develop new business opportunities and customer relationships to help the business meet its EV growth targets, whilst working alongside other Group companies to expand collaboration opportunities within Group customers.
* Promote and sell the complete range of EV related power distribution products and solutions into the UK market, providing support to the tendering teams in the submission of bids and tenders.
* Provide support to the tendering and production departments in managing project orders and project delivery programmes.
* Support the UK Area Sales Managers in managing and converting project enquiries across its target sectors including Highways, Street Lighting, Commercial, Infrastructure, EV and Net Zero.
* Drive specification of the Company’s products to key customer stakeholder groups such as DNOs, iDNOs, EV Service Providers (EVSPs), Charge Point Operators (CPOs), Consultants, Contractors, and End User segments
* Provide expert technical support to customers, the external sales force, the internal customer service department, and the product management team.
* Be the voice and ears of the company to make sure the product range is kept up to date and that any new product needs are identified and implemented with the Product Management department.
* Ensure the timely and successful implementation of new product and initiatives into the market to support achievement of the business’s objectives and financial goals.
* Support the Company’s forecasting and budgeting processes and provide timely reports in line with business processes and manager requests.
* Produce regular reports Liaise with the commercial team ensuring tenders are identified and tracked, ensuring the Company’s CRM system is updated and maintained to a good standard.
* Participate in the Company’s Performance Excellence HR programme, undertaking regular performance reviews, personal development, and training.
Qualifications, Knowledge, and Experience
Minimum:
* Minimum 5 years sales experience in an electrical manufacturing industry, preferably in a relevant sector e.g., EV, Power & Energy; Infrastructure or Renewables
* Technical qualification or relevant experience in electrical/mechanical engineering preferably to HND/HNC level with the ability to understand and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
* Demonstrable experience of solution selling/sales and territory management.
* Experience working with equipment specifiers to secure product specifications.
* Excellent organisation and project management skills (time management).
* High level of English (spoken and written).
* Strong negotiator with good business intelligence and relationship management skills.
* Good presentation & communication skills, at all business levels.
* Experience using CRM sales tools.
* IT literate with experience of Microsoft Office.
* Determined and self-driven salesperson who can work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
* Capable of cold calling and forming long-standing relationships
