We have an exciting new opportunity at PCE for a Trainee or Junior MMC Estimator to join our Business Development Team, based at PCE’s Head Office in Tamworth, Staffordshire.

We are looking for a candidate with either a basic understanding of construction, or a desire to grow their skill set within this area with the passion and drive to pursue a career within Business Development in the construction industry. Full training and support will be provided to help develop the candidate to progress to become a valuable member of the team.

Location
Whilst predominantly based at Head Office, the role holder may be required to stay-over and work from onsite locations, and benefit from fully experiencing the MMC onsite activities as part of their continual development.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Specific Job Role responsibilities but not limited to:
Working closely with the estimating team and the wider business development team in developing tender submissions.
Preparation of scope documentation including visual information in both 2D and 3D format.
Help with the preparation of quantity take-offs for all elements.
Work with the team to agreed tender programmes.
Support the team with supply chain engagement and other specialists in the preparation of pricing.
Support and assist the Estimating Team through the tender process as required.
Development & Analysis of tender data, providing key metrics back to the wider business.
Help prepare PCE tender documentation and quotations.
Understand and influence design intent working with design teams and structural engineers.
Take ownership for and drive project development.
Assist in developing manufacture and construction strategies, working closely with supply chain partners and Operations teams.
Work closely with project delivery teams in receiving feedback for continuous improvement.
Attend meetings both internally and externally as required.
Influence wider business development roles as required.
Help support with document control during project development and tender process.

REQUIRED SKILLS
Essential requirements for the Trainee role:
Have the ability to work both on your own and as a team player
Be self-motivated
Have a logical mindset and ability to process and analyse information
Ability to follow a process driven approach
Good knowledge of Microsoft software (Word / Excel/ Teams)
Good people skills – the job requires you to engage with a wide variety of people
Have a fantastic work-ethic and can-do attitude
Desirable requirements for the role:
Possess a keen interest or basic understanding of the construction industry, to include precast or hybrid construction. (Ideally in DFMA / offsite construction)
IT Skills to include experience with AutoCAD / Revit / 3D / BIM
Knowledge of Bluebeam or similar software
An understanding of construction documents / drawings / programmes etc
Have an appetite for innovation and progression
