Job Description:

An opportunity has arisen within NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde to work as a Principal Physiotherapist (Gait Laboratory) in the Gait Analysis Service in the West of Scotland Mobility and Rehabilitation Centre (WestMARC).
WestMARC provides wheelchair & seating, prosthetic and gait analysis services across all West of Scotland Health Boards. The gait analysis service works in collaboration with the Children’s Orthopaedic, Neurology and Neurosurgical Services at The Royal Hospital for Children, along with Orthotic Departments and Community Physiotherapy Services, providing a tertiary gait analysis and assessment service for children referred from across the West of Scotland. It also provides services to adults with a variety of neurological and musculoskeletal impairments, and works closely with WestMARC’s Prosthetic service.
Responsibilities:
* The applicant will require HCPC-registration as a Physiotherapist, with a degree in Physiotherapy and a relevant Masters qualification.
* Experience working with patients with a variety of neurological and musculoskeletal impairments affecting how they walk is essential.
* High levels of IT literacy are essential, as is the ability to write clearly to convey complex physical impairments and movement deviations, using anatomical and technical terminology.
* Experience of working in a multidisciplinary team with a variety of health professionals is essential. Working within a quality management system, the applicant will be expected to contribute to service improvement, as well as contributing towards the gait service achieving relevant certification and accreditation (e.g. CMAS and ISO 13485).
