Job site representative and authority for all construction, construction safety and construction quality control activities related to the project assigned, through the satisfactory completion of the project. Position requires experience with Federal government construction projects.
Principle Accountabilities and Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
* Project Oversight: Manage the day-to-day activities on the construction site, ensuring that the project progresses on schedule and within budget.
* Team Coordination: Supervise and coordinate the work of subcontractors, laborers, and other personnel on-site to ensure efficiency and compliance with project specifications.
* Safety Management: Ensure all craftsmen and visitors to the project work site comply without exception with all OSHA, Federal, State, Municipal, and project-specific regulatory safety requirements to provide the safest working environment for all project members and visitors.
* Quality Control: Monitor the quality of work to ensure it meets the project standards and specifications, conducting inspections as necessary.
* Scheduling: Ensure all construction activities meet master project schedule milestones by developing, preparing, and maintaining a two-week short interval construction activity schedule, which parallels project master schedule milestones, and updating the master schedule.
* Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact between the project manager, subcontractors, and other stakeholders, facilitating clear communication and problem resolution.
* Documentation: Maintain accurate records of daily activities, including daily reports, incident reports, and changes to the project plan.
* Material Management: Oversee the procurement and delivery of materials, ensuring that supplies are available when needed and that inventory is properly managed.
* Budget Oversight: Assist in managing the project budget, tracking expenses, and identifying areas for cost savings.
* Compliance: Ensure compliance with local building codes, regulations, and other legal requirements throughout the construction process.
* Conflict Resolution: Address and resolve any issues or conflicts that arise on-site among workers or with stakeholders.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
* Comprehensive knowledge of all aspects of commercial building construction activities.
* All documentation requirements as they relate to Federal government projects.
* Interpretation skills for commercial design drawings and specifications.
* Ability to work well with diverse groups of people.
* Effective interpersonal communication skills.
* Current knowledge of safety regulatory requirements for projects assigned.
* Computer scheduling and report writing skills.
* Working knowledge of Microsoft Project and/or Primavera scheduling software.
Requirements:
* MUST BE A US CITIZEN. NO EXCEPTIONS.
* Construction-related degree, or equivalent working experience desired.
* Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in field commercial construction supervision with a stable history as a field superintendent and familiarity with subcontractors and suppliers.
* Excellent communication skills when interfacing with involved trades, building officials, architects, and owners.
* Computer skills.
* Proficient with Microsoft Office programs, especially Word and Excel.
* The ability to travel and work out of town for short-term assignments is required.
