Transport Supervisor
Location: Wigan, UK
Are you ready for what’s next, now? We’re looking for a Transport Supervisor in Wigan. The position is 5 days per week and office-based. You’ll join an awesome team to support our growing customer base.
About the Role
The Transport Supervisor will oversee on-site transport operations for external carriers and ensure smooth coordination between the warehouse, drivers, and customer service teams. Key responsibilities include supervising daily processes, monitoring driver performance, and ensuring compliance with health, safety, and operational procedures. The role is essential in fostering strong relationships between the transport team, warehouse, and customers.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Supervise on-site operations for external carriers and coordinate effectively with warehouse teams.
2. Communicate job details clearly to drivers, ensuring they follow daily procedures.
3. Support on-site teams to guarantee compliance from drivers and external carriers.
4. Track and monitor driver status, address any delays, and provide timely updates to customer services.
5. Ensure smooth handover processes between shifts and teams.
6. Build positive relationships with the transport team, warehouse staff, and customers, handling inquiries professionally.
7. Manage health and safety procedures for external carriers visiting the site.
8. Communicate with warehouse departments and external carriers to track and manage yard trailer movements.
9. Perform additional duties as required to support the management team.
Principal Responsibilities:
1. Assist the transport team with managing haulier booking slots and updating arrival times in the system.
2. Support the customer transport operations.
3. Manage and track yard trailer movements, ensuring accurate data.
4. Oversee groupage labelling processes.
5. Ensure haulier compliance at the Gatehouse during arrivals.
6. Assist drivers on-site with INCAB compliance.
7. Manage haulier compliance, including POD (Proof of Delivery) compliance.
8. Handle rebooking of failed loads with customer sites.
9. Attend daily Playbook calls with the customer as a 3T representative to address any issues.
10. Participate in daily Load Release Schedule (LRS) calls to ensure warehouse and transport alignment on volumes.
11. Manage haulier compliance on the 3T Event Platform.

About you
This role is a great opportunity for someone with a strong background in transport operations who is looking to enhance their leadership skills within a dynamic and collaborative environment.
1. High accuracy in administration and data input.
2. Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
3. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
4. CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence) in transport management is desirable.
