Position
An opportunity has arisen for a permanent Pharmacy Healthcare Assistant at HMP Kilmarnock.
What you will do:
This is a diverse role involving the day to day delivery of a high standard support to the Prison Healthcare Team to enable health care to be delivered to a population who have a comprehensive range of physical, psychological, substance misuse and social problems whilst maintaining a high level of awareness of and compliance with security procedures within the prison setting.
You will contribute towards the day to day running of the Health Centre by ensuring the efficient and accurate supply of medicines to individuals in HMP Kilmarnock by responding to requests from doctors, nurses, and patients who have made requests for medicines, dressing, sundries and appliances which are required to meet the needs of the prison population.
In addition, you will carry out health related clinics such as non-complex long term condition management and phlebotomy clinics.

Knowledge, training and/or experience required to do the job:
SVQIII in health care or equivalent and a level of practical pharmacy and nursing assistant experience is essential for this post.
Ability to carry out assigned tasks to the expected standard in a busy high risk secure environment.
