ADHD Practitioner / Non-Medical Prescriber
Working as part of the Devon Adult Autism & ADHD Service, the post holder will be part of a multidisciplinary team providing assessment & treatment to those diagnosed with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). The role requires working in partnership with service users, carers, and other agencies to meet the holistic needs of individuals experiencing difficulties as a result of ADHD.
This is a temporary post for 15 months working 30 hours per week.
Devon Autism & ADHD Service require individuals who are committed to providing evidence-based interventions individually and in conjunction with other team members, to those with ADHD, and who are motivated to be part of this and any future service development.
This post is offered at Band 7 subject to Job Evaluation Process.
Main Duties of the Job
The post holder will be expected to:
* Provide evidence-based clinical interventions/treatments, including prescribing to clients assessed as having a diagnosis of ADHD.
* Work as an independent non-medical prescriber within the ADHD care pathway, taking responsibility for the clinical assessment of the client, establishing a diagnosis and the clinical management required, including initiating prescribing of Controlled Drugs, and liaising with GPs.
* Contribute to a group-oriented approach to the delivery of interventions to clients.
* Provide managerial and clinical supervision to junior members of the prescribing team as required.
* Update oneself with new developments and be actively involved in education and research in the specialty.

Job Responsibilities

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Registered Nurse or Allied Professional
* Qualification in independent prescribing
* IT Skills
* Training, qualification, in working with those with ADHD, or willingness to work towards this.
Experience
* Substantial post-registration experience in Independent Prescribing
* Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team
* Working autonomously within a community setting
* Ability to supervise others
* Ability to work to meet conflicting deadlines
* Knowledge of evidence-based treatments for ADHD
* Understanding of users and carers issues relating to ADHD
* Knowledge of providing specific therapeutic interventions to individuals with ADHD
* Experience of working with clients with ADHD
