Bassetlaw Place-Based Partnership (PBP) has an exciting opportunity; we are seeking to appoint a Clinical Lead, with an active clinical role, who will be responsible for providing senior clinical leadership to Bassetlaw PBP. This includes the development of the PBP, oversight of and contribution to the service transformation agenda, clinical coordination, engagement, and management.
The post-holder will be accountable to the PBP Strategic Leadership Board, responsible to the PBP Deputy Director, and will be a member of the Bassetlaw PBP, working collaboratively with all members of the partnership.
There is a strong emphasis in this role on working with the Integrated Care Board (ICB), provider organisations, local authorities, and the community and voluntary sector, to secure equity of access and delivery across health and social care in Bassetlaw.
This role will require an effective negotiator with highly developed influencing skills, a high standards approach that motivates and develops staff. The ability to work across political and organisational boundaries supporting a partnership approach to deliver on the PBP priorities is essential. The candidate should be able to learn from the past, be an innovative thinker, and possess political and strategic awareness and insight, along with a partnership working approach.
Applicants that do not work clinically within Bassetlaw will not be considered.
The Bassetlaw PBP Clinical Lead will support the PBP Chair and Deputy Director Bassetlaw Place in the following:
1. Supporting the development of Bassetlaw PBP;
2. Assuming clinical leadership for the development and implementation of local strategies and priorities;
3. Supporting service development at Bassetlaw Place level;
4. Providing clinical assurance of quality and performance management of service delivery across Bassetlaw;
5. Promoting and role modelling the principles of collaborative working across health, care, and wellbeing services.
The PBP Clinical Lead will be responsible for:
1. Improving quality and outcomes;
2. Enabling clinical and professional leadership;
3. Enabling patient and public involvement;
4. Strengthening partnership and cross-boundary working;
5. Promoting equality of access;
6. Reducing health inequalities.
Bassetlaw Place-Based Partnership (PBP) is a collaboration of commissioners, health and care providers, local authorities, and voluntary sector organisations working together to help the people of Bassetlaw live happier, healthier lives. The partnership is built around three Primary Care Networks (PCNs).
NHS Nottingham and Nottinghamshire Integrated Care Board (ICB) is a strategic component of the Integrated Care System (ICS) across Nottingham and Nottinghamshire. We were formed with the intention to improve population health and collaborate with local partners (NHS, Local Authority, and Third Sector) to deliver high-quality health and social care provision to our local population.
We have accountability for the system delivery of the ICS’ priorities such as improving outcomes in population health and healthcare, tackling inequalities in outcomes, experience, and access, enhancing productivity and value for money, and helping the NHS support broader social and economic development.

Patients are at the heart of everything we do, and it’s important that they are involved not just in decisions about their individual care, but also in the decisions that shape the health services delivered locally.
The Bassetlaw PBP Clinical Lead will have the following specific responsibilities:
1. Provide leadership for transformational change within the PBP and enabling clinical leadership with the PCN clinical directors and across clinical disciplines and professions in primary, community, mental health, and acute services, and working with professional/managerial leaders in local authority and the community sectors.
2. Provide clinical oversight of and contribution to the transformation agenda across Bassetlaw in relation to the design, development, and implementation of place transformation priorities as well as the wider ICS strategy.
3. Take clinical responsibility for service delivery and associated outcomes at a place level including delegated services and associated activity, as and when Bassetlaw PBP takes responsibility for service delivery on behalf of the Bassetlaw population.
4. Promote the principles of collaborative working across health, care, and wellbeing services, and act as a role model for others in always demonstrating the leadership values of the Bassetlaw Place-based Partnership.
5. Work in conjunction with the Nottingham and Nottinghamshire ICB and Integrated Care Partnership (ICP) leaders to develop the clinical contribution to the Bassetlaw PBP response to the NHS Long Term Plan, Joint Forward Plan, the ICS strategy, Nottinghamshire Joint Health and Wellbeing Strategy, and the wider ICS clinical strategy.
6. Develop and contribute to networks of clinical and professional leaders to undertake lead roles on behalf of Bassetlaw in progressing Nottingham and Nottinghamshire health and wellbeing change priorities.
7. Work across the Nottingham and Nottinghamshire system in collaboration with a wide range of clinical and care professionals to develop new ideas and solutions to address Bassetlaw PBP priorities linked to the ICS clinical transformation agenda / Nottinghamshire Joint Health and Wellbeing Strategy.
8. Provide clinical leadership for a range of other relevant functions and support quality improvements including research and development, innovation, and evidence-based practice.
9. Ensure that clinical and professional leadership is central to the delivery of Bassetlaw PBP decisions.
10. Provide clinical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to the Bassetlaw clinical leadership team, including PCN clinical directors.
11. Be a visible leader in Bassetlaw as well as the wider clinical and professional leadership system across the Nottingham and Nottinghamshire ICS.
12. Link to relevant professional bodies in Nottingham and Nottinghamshire, and regionally as appropriate.
