Providing clear and sustained leadership on the 5x Phases of Project Management: Project Conception & Initiation, Definition & Planning, Launch & Execution, Performance & Control and Project Close. Leading and engaging end users in the development of engineering scope Oversee all aspects of project management and delivery of scopes of work. Change Management – develop the case for change, assess the business impacts and develop a change management plan. Managing and leading multi-disciplinary project team (including suppliers) to deliver projects within Schedule, Cost and Quality and ensure that SDGI’s Health and Safety, Environmental and Quality Management Procedures are followed during the entire execution of the projects. Contributing to risk management and working with the project team to identify, schedule, and establish mitigation strategies for project risks. Running tender process and procurement activity with equipment vendors and suppliers including tender technical evaluation, raising/placing purchase orders and receipting invoices. Reporting of project progress, tracking of milestones, critical project activities, priorities, and capital forecast/cash-flow. In case of any project deviation, identifying root cause, putting mitigations in place and creating an action plan to ensure timely delivery to project plan. Manage all project resources through to project delivery. Manage post-installation process including testing, commissioning, training, etc. Project closure – assess project status against closure criteria and manage project handover. Evaluate successes and challenges to enhance learning for future projects. Carry out Post Implementation review approximately 3 months after project commissioning to identify and record any learnings from project execution Lead, manage & support, local area & sitewide initiatives. The Project Engineer is responsible for their own and others safety; ensure all safety procedures are adhered to and be involved in improving and developing procedures, carry out risk assessments and safety inspections. Ensure that all environmental objectives are met and work with others to minimise the impact that the operation has on the environment. Ensure all food safety and Quality requirements are met. Work with others to continually improve the Food Safety and Quality systems including completion of internal audits and plant inspections. Ensure housekeeping standards are continually improved by carrying internal audits and by self-inspection of the plant conditions. Complete all documentation accurately and as required by site procedures. There are no limits set for the duties and skills that may apply to this role. Educated to “A” level / HND standard in engineering subjects. Minimum 5 years’ experience in the food, manufacturing, or process industry, (A lesser educational standard may be acceptable if replaced with relevant experience) Hold an Engineering Degree or equivalent. Knowledge and Experience What standard of technical or professional knowledge does the position call for? Relevant experience in project management and ability to manage multiple projects preferably in food, manufacturing, or process industry – but other industries will be considered. Good interpretation of technical drawings. Engineering background in either Electrical or Mechanical or Automation or Construction field Professional qualification in Project Management (PMP, PRINCE2, Agile, etc.) What specialist knowledge or training is required? Knowledge and experience of statutory safety and requirements Familiar with business / quality systems and / or knowledge of HACCP Experience of RCA/5Y processes Experience with continuous improvement techniques Experience of carrying out risk assessment Working knowledge of COSHH legislation Experience with 3D modelling software (AutoCAD or SolidWorks) Experience with scheduling software such as MS Project or Primavera What management skills are required for this position?
