This exciting role gives the successful candidate a opportunity to learn how a acute healthcare setting functions, a opportunity to work with children and families whilst supporting nurses with clinical care. The candidate will be working 3 weeks of nights and 1 week of days in a roster period. Main duties of the job We are looking for an individual with strong communication skills, a confident user of IT systems with a keen eye for detail. You will also be involved in helping to provide play activities, required to assist the nursing staff with distraction techniques and support the escorting of children to other departments. Duties will also include general housekeeping tasks to help the ward run efficiently. At times, you may also be required to support the teams on the co-located out patient area. To enhance your development you will be required to complete the in-house care certificate training course within 3 months of taking up the post and will be supported to complete a number of additional clinical competencies relevant to the role.
