As a Technical Director in Mechanical Engineering, you'll play a vital role leading in every aspect of business development and mechanical engineering on Transformational Programmes for critical infrastructure. You'll have opportunities to work on iconic engineering projects at home and abroad, bringing people together to shape innovative and viable solutions to complex challenges facing society.
We specialise in all aspects of mechanical engineering within multiple sectors such as Water, Aviation, Defence, Energy, Cities & Development, and Education. We provide industry-leading engineering solutions throughout the project lifecycle, adding value through client-side support as well as construction phases. We currently have opportunities in our Epsom office.
Your Purpose:
1. Be accountable for technical delivery and safety, ensuring high-quality standards across multiple projects and programmes, acting as a point of escalation for complex technical matters.
2. Set our technical strategic direction for projects and bid proposals, acting as a subject-matter expert.
3. Lead an agenda of technical excellence and continuous improvement, ensuring compliance with quality assurance standards in design.
4. Collaborate with teams in the UK and overseas to deliver integrated design solutions.
5. Grow, develop, and manage mechanical engineering capability within the practice, contributing to advances in knowledge and providing vision and inspiration to others.
6. Be a strategic partner for our clients, sought out as a go-to person within your technical field.
What you can bring:
1. Chartered or Fellow Mechanical Engineer.
2. Influential and esteemed leadership, both internally and externally.
3. Multi-disciplinary integration and coordination experience and expertise.
4. Comprehensive knowledge of mechanical equipment such as pumps, blowers, screens, and chemical dosing plants, along with a deep understanding of current UK design standards and working practices.
5. Nationally or internationally recognised subject matter expertise in your discipline(s).
6. A strategic and transformational mindset.
