Who You Are We seek dedicated, flexible, and qualified individuals who are passionate about facilitating Family Learning sessions within Lincolnshire County Council's Adult Skills and Family Learning Service. You should possess the ability to engage with adults aged 19, particularly ESOL learners or those needing Functional Skills in English and Maths. Your commitment to increasing self-confidence in learners and transforming attitudes toward learning will be crucial. Successful candidates will have a knack for teaching in a fun and friendly manner, focused on improving outcomes for families by supporting parents/carers in learning new skills to aid their children's education. A Level 2 standard in English and maths is preferable, and an understanding that this role requires flexible, term-time-only hours, driven by the recruitment of participants by local schools, is essential. What the Job Involves This role involves conducting Family Learning sessions, both joint (in collaboration with local school link teachers) and adult-only, which range from short 2-hour workshops to 4-week courses. You will be responsible for engaging sessions in subjects such as Keeping up with the Children English and maths, Learning through Play, Family Fun with Reading, and more. Teach in locations across Horncastle/Louth, Skegness/Mablethorpe, Grantham, Stamford, and Holbeach areas. Prep and planning are compensated additionally at £21 per hour. Payment examples include £94.50 per joint session (3-4 hours delivery) and £420 for a 4-week course. Your start date is scheduled for January to allow for interviews, induction, and mandatory online training. Note the requirement for flexibility in hours, as schools recruit participants. We aim to meet your weekly hour requirements, though full-time hours cannot be guaranteed. Some tutors have long-term commitments due to schools' ongoing course requests.
