We are looking for a Cover Supervisor to join a 'Good' Ofsted-rated secondary school in Swindon. This large mainstream institution boasts a supportive cover team and dedicated teaching staff. The school offers continuous professional development (CPD) throughout the year and includes a sixth form, though the majority of the timetable for this role will focus on Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 levels.
Role Overview:
The Cover Supervisor will be responsible for managing classrooms during teachers' short-term absences, ensuring that students remain engaged with pre-set work and maintaining a structured learning environment.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise students as they complete pre-prepared exercises during teacher absences.
- Manage classroom behaviour in line with the school's behaviour policy.
- Provide support to students to ensure they remain on task.
- Assist with the organisation of the classroom environment.
- Collaborate with teaching staff to ensure continuity of learning.
Requirements:
- Recent graduate with a 2:1 degree or higher.
- Previous experience working in a UK school setting.
- Up-to-date safeguarding training issued within the last year.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is desirable but not essential.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Right to work in the UK.
- Possession of an enhanced DBS certificate registered with the online update service or willingness to undergo a new application.
- Ability to provide two professional references covering the last two years.
