Job summary We are seeking to recruit a Trainee Advanced Clinical Practitioner to work within the Emergency Medicine Departments at Mid Yorkshire Teaching Trust. You will be working as part of the ED team providing leadership, expertise, advice and support to the nursing and medical team to ensure the provision of high quality clinical care to our patients. As the Emergency Department offers a 24/7 service, the post holder will be required to work a variety of shifts covering a 7-day rota. This will be predominantly based at Pinderfields Hospital however to expand your skills you may be required to work across all 3 sites. Applicants should have a minimum of three years post-graduate experience of working as a nurse or AHP due to the university requirement and acuteness of the department and the ambition to commit to a three year training programme at Masters level. Through a structured programme of education, you will develop advanced clinical assessment and diagnostic skills, and the ability to work autonomously across the four pillars of Advanced Practice. You will be responsible for managing your own caseload and assessing, treating, referring and discharging patients in your care, under the supervision of a supportive and experienced team of Emergency Medicine physicians and ACPs. Main duties of the job The role of trainee ACP involves a programme of academic and work-placed based education, supported by an Educational Supervisor. You will be expected to complete an MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice via the apprenticeship route, undertaking a range of clinically-focused modules in line with the requirements of the role, including independent prescribing and clinical skills. Upon completion, you will have demonstrated clinical expertise and competence to be able to work within a defined scope of practice. As an Emergency Department ACP you will ultimately be expected to progress towards credentialing with the Royal College of Emergency Medicine, demonstrating additional skills and capabilities relevant to emergency care. You will work collaboratively with our excellent team of nurses, physicians and ACPs in order to provide a patient-centered service, and to ensure the safe, efficient and timely flow of patients through the Emergency Department.
