Logistics Assistant
Are you looking for a full-time permanent position at a reputable company? Great news! We are recruiting for one of our well established clients based in NN3 Northampton. They are a market leader within their industry and are looking to make an addition within the stores department.
The ideal candidate will have proof of a counterbalance licence (Expired or In-House accepted) and a proven track record / consistent work history within a similar logistics industry. They will also need a Full UK driving licence as the Forklift is operated on public roads.
Salary: £26,520 (Pro-Rata) / £12.75phr
Shift: 6am - 1pm & 1pm - 8pm (Weekly Rotating)

Job Duties:
Stock Management:
Accurately receive, check, and log incoming stock, ensuring that all deliveries are correct and undamaged. Organise and maintain the stock area in an orderly manner, ensuring all products are stored correctly and efficiently for easy access. Conduct regular inventory checks and audits to maintain accurate stock records and minimise discrepancies. Monitor stock levels and report low stock items or discrepancies to the supervisor to ensure continuous supply and prevent production delays.Picking and Packing:
Pick and pack items according to specific order requirements, ensuring accuracy and quality standards are met. Prepare orders for internal or external dispatch, labelling and organising for efficient and timely distribution. Assist in the packaging of products as required, ensuring all packaging is done in line with company standards and customer requirements.Logistics Support:
Operate a forklift (counterbalance) safely and efficiently to move, load, and unload materials within the warehouse as required. Collaborate with other departments, such as production and shipping, to ensure the efficient flow of materials to and from storage areas. Prepare and process documentation for goods in and goods out, ensuring that records are maintained accurately and are up-to-date.
Health and Safety Compliance:
Adhere to all health and safety guidelines and company procedures, ensuring a safe working environment for all employees. Conduct daily checks on equipment, such as forklifts, to ensure they are in good working condition and report any issues immediately. Maintain cleanliness and organisation in the store area to ensure a hazard-free environment.
Requirements:
Proof of a valid, in-house, or expired counterbalance forklift licence to operate forklifts safely for stock movement and loading tasks. Proven experience in a warehouse or stores role, ideally in manufacturing or logistics, with strong familiarity in inventory control, stock rotation, and material handling. Competence in basic IT skills, including experience with warehouse management systems or stock control software to accurately track and manage inventory. A full UK driving licence is essential, as forklift operations may extend to public roads. Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail to ensure accuracy in stock management, order fulfilment, and record-keeping. Ability to manage physical tasks, including lifting and moving stock, standing for extended periods, and working efficiently within a fast-paced environment. Solid understanding of health and safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment, with the ability to proactively identify and address potential hazards. Good communication skills with the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team, liaising with colleagues across departments as needed.
