We are seeking a highly skilled Energy Management Specialist to help shape energy efficiency across Sky's office estate in the UK and ROI. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying and delivering energy demand opportunities, shaping the efficiency of equipment we purchase, providing technical advice to project/operational teams, and harnessing technology to unlock further demand reduction opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
• Use technical skills to audit and identify energy reduction opportunities across Sky's office portfolio.
• Maintain a record of these opportunities and lead projects to reduce energy use through a mixture of low/no cost and capex opportunities.
• Develop relationships and work with stakeholder teams to proactively reduce energy use.
• Collaborate in the establishment of guardrails to manage tensions between energy reduction and operational resilience.
• Create clear and concise progress reports to senior leadership.
• Support equipment replacement strategies through provision of technical advice on most efficient/suitable projects using 'whole life' costing analysis.
• Act as a subject matter expert for energy efficiency/energy management, support the broader project and operational teams by providing technical advice, setting project objectives, reviewing stage gate designs, and reviewing consultant sustainability reviews.
Requirements:
• Proven experience in technical 'hands-on' Energy Management roles.
• Proven track record of implementing energy efficiency measures and reducing energy demand within these roles.
• Extensive knowledge of HVAC, lighting, renewable power, district heating, and building management systems plus an understanding of energy and water metering (including monitoring and targeting platforms).
• Ability to carry out energy audits and feasibility studies for the implementation of new technologies or replacement of existing.
• Firm understanding of current energy efficiency legislation (including MEES, ESOS, EPBD etc) and an understanding of developing guidance in relation to new build/retrofit net zero design principles/requirements (UKGBC/LETI/RIBA).
• Knowledge of IPMVP is beneficial but not essential.
• Professional accreditation to CIBSE, Energy Institute, or other.
The Salary:
£60,000 - £80,000 per annum.
