Job summary We are recruiting a PCN Manager: this is a rare opportunity to play a key part in developing a new PCN. If you enjoy a varied job, with both operational and leadership responsibilities, this could be the role for you. We are looking for applicants who have managerial experience, a track record of delivery, and an ability to work flexibly. Experience of general practice is desirable but not essential. Digital transformation will be a key element of the role, so competence in digital technologies, and a willingness to train further as required, are required. Working Conditions You will divide your time between the Forest of Dean and G DOCs head office in Gloucester. You will be required to travel independently between the Forest of Dean and Gloucester, and to attend meetings etc. hosted by other agencies throughout Gloucestershire and, occasionally, in other areas of the UK. There is likely to be daily travel between sites. There is a requirement that the post-holder be available at least 4 days per week (or hours can be worked over 5 days, if preferred). We can offer flexibility about exact working hours, provided the requirement of the role are met. Main duties of the job The Manager role is central to the PCN. The successful candidate will ensure the efficient running of the network, while supporting the Clinical Director, other lead clinicians and the member practices. You will work with the Clinical Director and member practices to deliver: Strategic planning: developing and delivering the PCNs strategic plan Financial planning and management Digital transformation: the PCN Manager will develop and implement a digital transformation strategy. Communications with patients, member practices, commissioners and other stakeholders The management of the PCN itself, arranging and chairing meetings The design and delivery of contracted services within contractual and financial constraints, to deliver high quality primary care care The management of directly employed PCN staff and liaison with Practices about PCN-funded practice staff Reporting and data collection Ensuring that the PCN complies with all relevant legislation and regulatory requirements. West Forest PCN is a newly-formed network of 5 GP practices, with a patient population of over 37,000, covering a large rural area in Gloucestershire. The PCN comprises Blakeney, Coleford, Lydney, Severnbank and Yorkley practices. Although the PCN is new, our practices have been working together for some years, and achieved much through our collaboration. Many of our patients experience economic deprivation, as well as the challenges of accessing healthcare in a rural area. The PCN is committed to improving health outcomes for our population, and to supporting collaboration to maximise efficiency.
