We’re looking for a hands-on, creative designer with a flair for developing engaging materials across print, large format and digital platforms. You’ll be involved in a wide range of projects bringing creative ideas to life and delivering first-rate design. Working with internal stakeholders, you’ll provide advice and guidance as well as creative direction, from initial brief through to production.
You’ll make an impact by:
Producing consistently high quality, engaging and effective design
Acting as guardian and ambassador for the University parent brand and Met Sport sub brand
Delivering a customer-focused in-house design service
Collaborating with colleagues to generate ideas and creative solutions
Developing digital assets, infographics and illustrations designed to inform and influence the target audience.
This is a maternity cover role based in the Brand and Marketing team. You will work closely with the Cardiff Met Sport team and will be required to work across our Llandaff and Cyncoed campuses.
What you’ll bring
You’ll need a high level of creativity, passion for design and a positive attitude as well as excellent organisational skills to manage multiple projects concurrently.
Experience of developing design concepts from start to finish is essential, as is an eye for detail and the ability to produce clean artwork to tight deadlines. Your portfolio of graphic design work will showcase your creative ideas, digital design and capacity to produce bi-lingual materials. You’ll need knowledge of appropriate software including Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, Dreamweaver, Illustrator, Acrobat and QuarkXPress 2025 to enable you to deliver in this role.
Effective communication skills are important too as you’ll be liaising with a range of stakeholders across the University, as well as external suppliers.
