Our client, a firm of Accountants in Newcastle, is seeking a Trust Manager to manage and develop an existing portfolio of trusts. The portfolio primarily consists of discretionary trusts, including variants such as employee and family trusts.
The role involves providing exceptional client service, ensuring compliance with legislative requirements, and contributing to the growth and development of a highly regarded professional trustee practice.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage a portfolio of trusts, including day-to-day administration and related planning aspects.
Ensure compliance with trustee fiduciary duties and all relevant laws and regulations.
Handle trust administration tasks such as completing trust accounts and tax returns, conducting annual compliance meetings, and preparing trustee documents (e.g., resolutions, deeds of appointment, investment policy statements).
Liaise with beneficiaries, property managers, investment managers, financial advisors, and other third-party professionals.
Assist with private client matters related to trust management, including asset protection planning.
Provide advice on Inheritance Tax and Capital Gains Tax matters, with internal support available as needed.
Maintain and develop relationships with existing clients and third-party advisers.
Desired Skills and Experience:
At least 3 years of experience in a similar role.
Extensive working knowledge of various types of trusts and trust structures.
Professional qualifications such as TEP, ACA, ACCA, ATT, CTA, or a legal qualification are preferred but not essential.
