About the role
We are seeking a reliable and dedicated individual who has experience and knowledge within the grooming industry. A fundamental part of the role as a casual grooming technician is to support the overarching curriculum of the animal care department particularly within grooming. This will include setting up areas for practical lessons, supporting staff and students within the practical area whilst ensuring the onsite grooming business is able to run effectively and safe for all.
Other key duties include:
Providing support to events, welcome days and open evenings.
Ensuring practical areas are fully resourced and ready for use in practical teaching and learning lessons.
Providing supervisions to students within the practical grooming area in line with the requirements of the curriculum intent.
Maintaining up to date client records and stock taking within the area in accordance with accurate record keeping.
About the person
The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills with a focus on the day-to-day care of animals particularly customers dogs within the grooming area.
Candidates should have:
The minimum of a level 2 grooming qualification or a related qualification.
Level 2/GCSE English and Maths (or willingness to work towards).
Level 2 or higher qualification (or willingness to work towards) in related area.
