We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Electrical Site Supervisor to oversee and manage electrical installations and site operations on various projects. The successful candidate will ensure all electrical work is performed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with relevant codes and regulations. This is a hands-on role that requires strong leadership and technical expertise to manage a team of electricians and subcontractors, ensuring the timely delivery of electrical work.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Supervision and Leadership:
1. Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of electrical operatives and subcontractors on-site.
2. Provide clear instructions and support to electricians and other site personnel.
3. Ensure high standards of workmanship and compliance with safety regulations.
4. Monitor and assess the progress of electrical installations, making adjustments as necessary to meet project deadlines.
2. Project Coordination and Execution:
1. Review and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and technical specifications to ensure accurate execution of work.
2. Oversee the installation of electrical systems.
3. Ensure electrical systems are installed and tested in accordance with BS7871 18TH Edition.
3. Safety and Compliance:
1. Promote and enforce a culture of safety on-site, conducting regular safety checks and risk assessments.
2. Ensure all electrical work complies with national and local electrical codes, health, and safety regulations.
3. Report and rectify any safety violations or risks associated with electrical work.
4. Quality Control:
1. Perform quality inspections of electrical installations and systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and project requirements.
2. Coordinate any necessary adjustments or rework to meet quality and regulatory requirements.
5. Reporting and Documentation:
1. Maintain accurate records of daily work activities, materials used, and progress on-site.
2. Report progress, issues, and any delays to the Project Manager or Site Manager.
3. Assist with the preparation of project reports, including work schedules, material requirements, and safety documentation.
6. Client Interaction:
1. Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, addressing any concerns or queries regarding electrical work.
2. Provide updates and progress reports to clients or senior management as needed.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Education:
1. Electrical engineering or related field qualification (e.g., Electrical Apprenticeship, NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, etc.).
2. Experience:
1. Proven experience as an Electrical Site Supervisor, Electrical Foreman, or similar role in a construction or industrial setting.
2. Strong technical knowledge of electrical systems, installations, and maintenance.
3. In-depth understanding of electrical codes, regulations, and safety standards.
3. Skills:
1. Excellent leadership and team management skills.
2. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
3. Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and technical documentation.
4. Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
5. Good organizational and time-management skills.
4. Certifications:
1. Valid Electrical Supervisor or Electrical Installation qualification (e.g., 18th Edition, ECS Card).
2. First Aid and Health & Safety certifications (e.g., SMSTS or SSSTS).
3. City & Guilds 2391 Level 3 Award in Initial and Periodic Electrical Inspection and Testing.
4. JIB Approved.
Working Conditions:
1. Full-time, on-site role.
2. Must be willing to work on multiple sites in the north west region.
3. Occasional overtime may be required to meet project deadlines.
