Ready to level up with an employer's support to Class 3 and beyond?
If you were, the first thing you’d want to do is find an employer that works on a range of buildings, that includes High Rise. So you’d know that you’ll be constantly working with Class 3’s and 4’s gaining experience and building your portfolio of knowledge.
Next you’d want to know if it was worth it. You’d want to know that there is structure, constant attention to your salary, package and grades internally.
Then you’d want to know what support is available for you to achieve everything you’re aiming for. Are they going to make sure you’re doing the appropriate CPD and is there internal assistance when you’re applying for new classes and categories?
Tick, tick, tick.
If you worked here, getting up the ladder and progressing through the classes and categories isn’t an aspiration, it’s an opportunity.
There’s a range of building types. You’ll get the chance to work on Resi for example, but it’s mostly commercial, and higher risk buildings of every different type. You can pay your way in the business with your existing experience and knowledge, and earn at the right level of experience.
But they don’t treat you like a depreciating asset. They don’t sweat you like an asset.
You’re given the opportunity to grow and progress. They’ve got all of the classes internally that can support and help with new competencies and evidence when you need it. You’ll assist on live projects of every kind.
They’ll give you interview practice, pay your fees, and give you proper payrises at the end of it.
You’ll never get bored. There are opportunities to advise on a consultancy basis, work with other building regs related disciplines and get as much variety as you want. There’s enough space and depth for you to do that here.
You’ll get 29 days holiday from day one plus an extra day every year until you hit 33 days. That’s not including bank holidays. What would you do with that time?
You might only have experience doing one or two building types. You won’t find that a problem here or something that will slow your progression. You’ll get opportunities to learn and grow into new areas often.
