It is imperative that the successful candidate looks to collaborate with peers and the Centres of Excellence to create a consistent employee experience where possible Build commitment for People strategies, identifying and working through specific depot concerns to embed initiatives Build and maintain a collaborative working relationship with depot Trade Union representatives Maintain and promote good industrial relations, taking a key role in annual pay negotiations Maintain and promote good employee relations and ensure employee issues are dealt with at an early stage Facilitate active succession and development planning for all central functions Overseeing and tracking all disciplinary cases on site Promoting best practice in all disciplinary cases, advising on employment law and ensuring processes and policies are followed and that investigations are comprehensive Who you are: CIPD qualification is desirable Significant experience in a HR Manager/ People Partner role operating across the full generalist remit, ideally within a logistics, retail or manufacturing environment Credibility and impact to act as a true business partner to the depot management team Excellent leadership skills to bring others on the journey Ability to apply technical knowledge combined with pragmatism to influence others Recognised ability to build strong relationships across all levels Strong ability to develop HR strategies and deliver change including redundancy, TUPE and contractual variations Experience of dealing with complex ER issues Strong written and verbal communication skills, planning and organisational skills, attention to detail and data analysis Solid working knowledge of the principles and practices of employment law with in-depth practical knowledge and application Experience of leading a team of HR professionals Ability to exercise confidentiality and discretion at all times Flexibility to travel when required Why Gist?
