What you will do: Serve as the Lead Child Protection worker out of office hours, conducting necessary investigations to ensure the safety of children under the Children Act 1989. Respond to and act upon referrals while on duty, assessing and supporting children in need and promoting family welfare. If qualified, adopt the role of AMHP, assessing children and adults under the Mental Health Act 1983 and managing immediate community support plans. Record all interventions, referrals, and decisions efficiently to maintain thorough service user files. Prepare emergency court applications out of hours and represent in court to safeguard welfare. Provide advice to other professionals and the public on relevant legal frameworks to ensure the safety of children and vulnerable adults.
