The team and clients
Our well-established Litigation and Dispute Resolution Team are looking to recruit a Legal Assistant into the team.
The team (currently comprising five Partners, two Senior Associates, two Associates, one Solicitor, two Paralegals and three Legal Assistants and often a Trainee Solicitor) offers specialist advice and support on many different types of disputes and acts for a wide range of clients from individuals to business clients with a worldwide presence.
The Post and candidate
The successful candidate will provide administrative support to the team playing a key role in ensuring the smooth running of new and ongoing matters. The main duties of the position include:
1. Ensuring excellent levels of client service are maintained at all times to prospective and existing clients;
2. Attending to clients, potential clients, the court, experts and counsel on the phone (and on occasions, face to face), taking messages and arranging appointments as necessary;
3. Monitoring and fielding email enquiries from prospective and existing clients, and passing on to the team, as appropriate;
4. Opening files in accordance with procedure, including obtaining client ID, conducting conflict and anti-money laundering checks;
5. Typing, preparing and formatting documents, including preparing invoices, statements of account and assisting with credit control;
6. Dealing with administration matters such as file opening / closing, to include conflict checks and preparing engagement letters;
7. Maintaining client files, including efficient utilisation of the case management system;
8. Filing and photocopying of documents (including preparation of court bundles);
To be successful within the role, the ideal candidate must have the ability to work to tight deadlines and be comfortable prioritising tasks from multiple sources. Training will be provided within the team but at least 1 year of previous experience in an administrative position will be essential.

Pay: £23,000.00-£26,000.00 per year
