We are looking for a Low Voltage to High Voltage Lead Electrical Construction Fitter to join our team!
Base Location: Basingstoke, West London, Slough, Reading, Swindon, Oxford, Melksham, Yeovil, Andover, Poole, New Forest, Portsmouth, Petersfield or Aldershot
Salary: £37,075 - £43,063 Plus:
1. 37 hour working week.
2. Full PPE and tools supplied for the role.
3. Company vehicle provided.

SSEN are looking to hire an LV/HV Electrical Lead Construction Fitter to be based in any location in our Southern region. You'll be part of a great team that is there to help and support each other. The key responsibilities will include:
1. Working in a team responsible for constructing electrical apparatus within substations on the electricity distribution network from 11kV up to 132kV.
2. Safe delivery of construction projects in live electricity substation environments in line with operational safety rules and safety legislation. This will also include emergency response to fault scenarios.
3. Installation of fixed relays onto existing relay panels. Installation and commissioning of CT Metering apparatus.
4. Act as an ambassador for Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks when interacting with external and internal customers to deliver world class customer service and protect the SSE brand.
What do I need?
To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:
1. Knowledge of the electricity distribution network and experience of working in live electricity substation environments from 11kV - 132kV.
2. Previous experience will include working on DC battery systems, internal panel wiring modification, multicore cable terminating and glanding, wiring circuit breakers, CT's/VT's to marshalling kiosks and control panels, AC/DC wiring and replacing 33kV outdoor circuit breakers and isolators. The ability to read and interpret single line wiring diagrams and cable ferruling.
3. A high regard for safety, especially on construction sites and CDM regulations with strong customer service skills.
4. Previous electricity network operational authorisations would be extremely beneficial as would training and qualifications in scaffold, telehandler, furzeweld, working at height, confined space, asbestos, COSHH, Loler and SMSTS.
5. A clean driving licence and a flexible approach to working hours and work location is a must because the role will involve extensive travel throughout our network area.
