Position: Head of Finance
Location: Glasgow, Head Office
Job Type: Full time, Permanent

Purpose of Role:
As the Head of Finance, you will work in conjunction with the board and fellow senior management to contribute to the overall success of the business and the achievement of the business objectives and results.
You will have responsibility for the monthly Management Accounts production including all month end journals and reconciliations. Submission and completion of planning documents to the SSC. This incorporates full responsibility for the production of the monthly VAT Returns & Intrastat submissions. Support of Accounts Payable and Receivable functions. Additional ad hoc reporting requirements as required (including areas on cost, cash flow, balance sheet and forecasting).
Key Responsibilities:
1. Produce monthly Profit and Loss statements
2. Compare actual vs. forecast
3. Support Financial Accounting function to ensure a timely and accurate month end result
4. Provide reactive and proactive support
5. Prepare Month end reporting pack
6. Build detailed Profit and Loss accounts for each department
7. Highly detailed forecasting, planning and analysis of all business channels
8. Seek relevant and valid input from other departments e.g. cost drivers and key non-financial data
9. Push forecasting and planning through system
10. Build spreadsheets
11. Secure approval from Managing Director
12. Key into local accounting system, Group D365 and Group COPSY
13. Check data
14. Liaise with Ireland and Hamburg to ensure data is correct
15. Control payments to suppliers in conjunction with the SSC Hamburg to ensure timely and accurate payment
16. Conduct quarterly VAT returns
17. Complete and send off intrastat returns in conjunction with SSC Hamburg
18. Ensure all master data changes are made to support this
19. All other UK controlled accounts e.g. VAT
Experience
Essential:
* Experience gained in an FMCG or similar B2B company
* Previous Team Leader with strong people management skills
Desirable:
* Previous position in a subsidiary of an international corporate organisation
* Experience in a Senior Finance role
Skills / Knowledge
Essential:
* CIMA/ACA/ACCA qualified
* Competent in all Microsoft Office packages, specifically Excel to an advanced level
* Excellent communication skills for presentation of information both verbally and in written format
* People management with focus on successfully co-ordinating the work of others alongside own workload and motivating the team
* Attention to detail to evidence accuracy in all work produced and complete/follow through on all tasks of the team and aid remote working
* Commercial acumen to maintain up-to-date specialist and market knowledge to enhance credibility and assist influencing ability
Desirable:
* Corporate Legal Training
* Commercial acumen to maintain up-to-date specialist cost and market knowledge to enhance credibility and assist influencing ability
