The Post
We are looking to appoint a motivated and enthusiastic lecturer who has teaching and supervision experience in sport and/or exercise psychology.
The successful candidate will work with existing Faculty groups to deliver excellence in teaching to our sport psychology programmes. They will contribute to our BSc Sport Psychology and MSc Psychology of Sport programmes and help build on our success to deliver the University's strategic plan. The post available is on a Teaching and Scholarship (T&S) basis.
The successful candidate will have relevant subject knowledge, will ideally have a recognised teaching qualification, and demonstrate completion of (or be studying towards) a relevant professional practice qualification and/or registration in sport and exercise psychology (e.g., BASES Sport and Exercise Psychology Accreditation Route, BPS Qualification in Sport and Exercise Psychology Stage Two, Professional Doctorate in Sport and/or Exercise Psychology, Health and Care Professions Council Registration).
Description of Duties
* Design, deliver, assess and evaluate a range of teaching and learning, supervision and assessment activities across undergraduate and postgraduate levels, including online/digital programmes, where required.
* Contribute to curriculum review and enhancement, in a manner that supports student learning and is underpinned by evidence-based scholarly activity.
* Enhance the quality of teaching provision and programme development, drawing on leading practices from the HE sector.
* Develop and apply new, effective and appropriate teaching and learning techniques and material, which create interest, understanding and enthusiasm amongst students.
Essential Criteria
Qualifications
* PhD in relevant discipline or equivalent professional and/or teaching experience.
* Higher Education teaching qualification or equivalent e.g. PGCert and/or holding or working towards Associate Fellow of Higher Education Academy (HEA).
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
* Experience of designing and delivering excellent learning activities and assessment at undergraduate and postgraduate level, preferably including online/digital programmes.
* Evidence of developing effective learning environments and approaches to student support and guidance.
