Title: Solution Architect
Overview - Summary -
DWM (digitalizing work management) is National Grid’s work management landscape used by 1400+ ET operational staff.
The DWM solution comprises of following:
➢ Salesforce Service Cloud -FSL
➢ MuleSoft RTF
➢ Hybrid Mobile Application built on Reactive Native and deployed to iPad OS devices using Microsoft Intune MDM
➢ Ellipse EAM (Enterprise Asset Management) - Current
➢ Maximo EAM (Enterprise Asset Management) – New
➢ Data lake and Reporting tools (BO/Power BI)
The above landscape is responsible for creating and scheduling over 300k work orders per annum and 3,000,000 API calls, it is a core landscape that is pivotal in ensuring National Grid’s asset base across 300 substations, 4500 miles of overhead line cables and 90,000 overhead line towers are maintained and inspected. DWM Phase 1,2 of the program was delivered in 2021-2022 and set the foundation for delivery of a digital roadmap for National Grid’s asset operations business. DWM Phase 3 focused on implementing enhancements to the production version of DWM from Jun-23 to Jun-24. Current phase to focus on DWM-EAM Integration.
Key responsibilities as a Solution Architect @ DWM and day-to-day responsibilities will require you to:
1. Work with Project team and other groups in National Grid to ensure new features are correctly designed (end to end ) and implemented as per business needs.
2. Assessing the overall technical impacts on Enhancements and EAM Integration requests. Propose appropriate end to end solution/design. Playback to project team and wider stake holders.
3. Take ownership in ensuring all technical artifacts are up to date on going work, allows sprint teams to deliver their features on time and quality.
4. Driving the identification and remediation of technical issues / challenges which emerge through testing to remove any delivery blockers.
5. Managing key relationships with business SME’s (Product owners/managers/business experts) and other lines of services (services owners, service providers, digital risk and security) to ensure their requirements are catered.
6. Providing thought technical leadership in asset & work management, enterprise mobility and digital transformation
7. Supporting and prioritizing the validation of product backlogs and user stories. Identifying the technical dependencies.
Key skills:
As a solution architect possess background in software development (preferably in a mobile app paradigm). Complex problem solving and proactively set high standards for you and the team.
1) Strong knowledge of Mobile app design and developments (Hybrid Mobile Application built on Reactive Native and deployed to iPad OS devices using Microsoft Intune MDM)
2) Excellent communication skills and apply SAFe Agile principles / practices to guide project teams in delivering solutions efficiently. Foster a collaborative and adaptive work environment that promotes continuous improvement.
3) Demonstrable knowledge of salesforce FSL
4) Demonstrable knowledge of CI/CD tooling and pipelines
5) Knowledge of integration patterns and understanding of data models
6) Create and maintain detailed technical documentation, including architecture diagrams, design specifications, and implementation plans
