Job Description – Residential Support Worker
Job Summary

We are looking for innovative individuals who have experience with the challenges of running an Ofsted Registered Children’s Home.
Key Responsibilities
1. To attend reviews and planning meetings to provide information and achieve best outcomes for young people.
2. To assist the Managers in the implementation of all aspects of the company’s objectives.
3. To contribute to the devising, implementation and evaluation of changes with the involvement of front-line staff to continually improve services, systems, and standards, in conjunction with the Registered Managers.
4. To undertake direct work with young people and act as an appropriate role model.
5. To maintain accurate written records in logs, and files both to record information and enable regular monitoring and evaluation to take place.
6. To work in partnership with parents, and other professionals to safeguard and promote the welfare of young people.
7. To offer mentoring, role model and supervision to staff in line with Children's Homes Regulations 2015 and the Children's Act 2004.
8. To ensure young people are safeguarded as appropriate.
9. To assess the development needs of young people and to monitor and improve the home's support plan and practices for each young person.
10. To create an open and supportive atmosphere within the home between staff members and young people, to enable the growth and development of both staff and young people.
11. To ensure the home is safe and to provide a pleasant quality environment for the young people.
12. To create and develop links between the community and the home to enable young people to participate fully in the local community.
13. To ensure the young people and staff are aware of all the procedures relating to complaints and concerns.
14. To ensure the assessed needs of young people in the home are met on a day-to-day basis.
Qualifications and Experience
1. Min Level 3 Diploma in Health & Social Care workforce is required.
2. A willingness to work towards level 5 in residential childcare qualifications.
3. Secondary Education with good standard of literacy and numeracy.
4. Current driving licence required due to the nature of the job role.
5. Successful applicants are required to undergo an enhanced DBS disclosure and provide satisfactory references.
6. 2+ years’ experience of working in a residential setting with children who present with challenging behaviour or similar setting (preferred).
Job Type: Full time, permanent following 3 month probation period. This role offers varied shift patterns, including night shifts. This role is based in either of our homes in Chatham or Meopham, Kent.
