Job Description
We are currently looking for an experienced Financial Accountant to join our team in Lichfield. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the provision of accurate and timely financial reporting.
RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Support preparation of month end results, journal posting, variance analysis to include P&L, balance sheet and cashflow
2. Post accruals and prepayment journals
3. Prepare, reconcile and confirm intercompany balances
4. Support preparation of assigned balance sheet reconciliations
5. Manage fixed asset register to include additions, disposals, depreciation runs, general maintenance of asset register
6. Run IFRS16 leased asset reports and post
7. Complete bank postings and cash forecasting
8. Complete monthly bank reconciliations (GBP, Euro, USD) for review by FC
9. Input P&L for FIRE Reporting
10. Input R&D costs summary for GLORIA Reporting
11. Input data of Balance Sheet into FIRE
12. Plan and run cost allocation cycles in SAP
13. Prepare monthly reports for Cost Centre heads. Review with managers and support understanding through additional analysis or explanation as required.
14. Partner with cost centre leads and other non-finance staff as required to manage and understand budgets, actuals and forecasts.
15. Support month end and year end closing processes
16. In conjunction with FC support preparation of annual financial statements, preparing reports for auditors and tax adviser as required.
17. Support preparation of annual cost budgets and upload P&L into SAP, FIRE & GLORIA
18. Load Budget balance sheet into FIRE
19. Maintain accurate headcount data to enable reliable reporting
20. Prepare and present month end reports for CES UK (Overhead, Headcount)
21. Support ongoing review of processes and procedures
22. Prepare ad-hoc reports as requested by management
Qualifications
1. Graduate in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, ACA) preferred.
2. Proven experience as a Financial Accountant or similar role
3. Strong knowledge of UK GAAP or IFRS and familiarity with UK tax regulations.
4. Proficiency in accounting software & Excel.
5. Excellent analytical & problem-solving skills.
6. Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
7. Effective communication & interpersonal skills.
8. Strong organizational and time management skills.
9. Experience with financial ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) preferred.
10. Prior experience in a multinational or publicly traded company preferred.
