Role: Senior Instructor - Outdoor Learning
Salary: £28,500 - £31,680 (27.75 hours FTE annualised)
Location: Bewl Water Centre (Lamberhurst, Kent) & Outdoor Learning Outreach Service

We are looking for a Senior Instructor to join our exciting team to support and assist the Service Lead, Business Manager and Chief Instructor by taking responsibility for agreed outdoor learning activities and equipment.

Experience in leading outdoor activities for children, young people, and adults, tailoring experiences to individual and group needs.
Ability to manage and coordinate teams, ensuring safe, engaging, and effective delivery of outdoor learning activities.
Strong communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to handle incidents calmly and effectively.
A proactive approach to ensuring safety, compliance, and maintenance of outdoor equipment.
A commitment to ongoing personal and professional development.
As Senior Instructor you will:
Lead and deliver a range of outdoor learning activities at our residential watersports and activity centre, as well as through our outreach services.
Ensure activities are tailored to meet both group and individual learning objectives.
Manage and supervise a team of instructors, ensuring high standards of delivery and safety.
Take responsibility for equipment checks, maintenance, and set-up/take-down procedures.
Provide training and support to staff, helping them develop their outdoor learning skills.
Ensure the safeguarding and welfare of all participants, especially children and vulnerable adults.
Work alongside visiting staff to create a supportive and inspiring environment for learning.

What We Require:
Must have a First Aid qualification
At least 1 outdoor qualification such as Royal Yachting Association (RYA), Senior Dinghy Instructor, Senior Windsurf Instructor (RYA), Paddlesport Instructor (BC), Rock Climbing Instructor, Archery, or Forest School qualifications
Significant experience in outdoor education and activity leadership, especially with children, young people and vulnerable adults
Strong leadership and team coordination experience
Ability to implement safety procedures and manage incidents effectively
A passion for the outdoors and for inspiring others through education and adventure
