The Council has a holistic approach to absence management which is set out in our Maximising Attendance Policy. The policy provides a wide range of supports for employees and managers to ensure our employees and managers are supported through any absence. You will be part of a new team focussing on maximising attendance. This will involve providing professional guidance to managers on the policy as well as contributing to overall improvements in this approach. The Personnel Assistants will provide a Resource focus to the operational delivery of our service. Key accountabilities include providing professional advice and guidance to managers and employees in relation to personnel policies, procedures and systems. A good understanding of maximising attendance is desirable. The post holder will work closely with the Personnel Adviser and Personnel Officer to achieve maximising attendance targets. The successful applicant should be able to demonstrate effective planning and organising skills; excellent communication skills, including providing professional advice with confidence. In addition, the successful candidate should be able to prioritise their own workload whilst providing the necessary level of support to colleagues, managers and employees. Applicants should have proven customer care skills and be able to co-operate with others at all levels in addition to possessing a sound working knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Office packages.
