HP Wolf Security develop endpoint software security products which are based on the hardware assisted virtualization. One of the hypervisors that we have created, uXen, is used in a product that runs on millions of devices. You will be responsible for designing and developing new features as well as providing support and maintenance for existing code and components. The successful candidate must have expert level programming experience with C or C++ as well as significant experience designing new features and delivering through the full software engineering life cycle. The candidate should also be good at communicating ideas with their team members and both internal & external stakeholders. Ideally the role holder will work from our Cambridge Lab but we’d also welcome applications from candidates who wish to work hybrid / remote in the UK providing you can travel to our Cambridge Lab as/when required. Responsibilities for the Principal Windows Internals Engineer: • Lead design and implementation efforts in system level software projects such as device drivers, system services, and applications • Lead reverse engineering and black box debugging efforts (including post-mortem problem analysis) • Drive improvement, security and performance of the product • Analyse and debug problems at the cross-section of software, firmware and hardware • Develop building blocks to enhance automated verification • Provide engineering support for customer issues • Collaborate with other development and management teams to provide solutions that fit into existing constraints as well as drive the changes when required Requirements for the Principal Windows Internals Engineer: • Expert programming experience in C or C++ • Expert understanding of modern operating systems with focus on Windows internals, x86-64 architectures and PC platforms • Reverse engineering experience of closed-sourced systems • Development experience in Windows kernel and user mode • Hands on experience with locating and addressing performance bottlenecks in system software • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related technical field or equivalent A great Principal Windows Internals Engineer will have- • Understanding of virtualization technologies and ideally hands on experience with hardware assisted virtualization (VT-x/AMDV) • Experience with Windows IOT and Windows on ARM64 development • Hands on experience with Linux system development • Understanding of components in the OSI networking model with emphasis on TCP/IP protocols About you: You’re out to reimagine and reinvent what’s possible- in your career as well as the world around you.
