We are seeking a dynamic and creative Social Media Creator to showcase Charterhouse Summer School this summer If you’re passionate about summer schools, storytelling, and social media, we’d love to hear from you. Charterhouse Summer School is a residential programme for both domestic and international students aged 10–17, based across the south of England and running from 30th June to 10th August. You’ll be responsible for keeping our audience up to date and sharing the best moments from camp across our social media channels. This role is ideal for a social media marketing freelancer or junior marketing professional looking to gain experience with a high-profile brand. You’ll have the opportunity to independently showcase your creative skills while contributing to a leading summer school —driving engagement and growing our online following. This is a fixed-term contract covering the duration of the summer camp season and is not a permanent position. WHAT YOU’LL DO You’ll work closely with the academic team to develop a content plan for our social media coverage throughout the summer school. Based at Charterhouse in Surrey, Monday to Friday, you’ll be responsible for capturing, editing, and posting high-quality content—primarily on Instagram. This role requires strong photography and content creation skills, as well as the ability to engage with staff and students across the camp to bring your creative ideas to life. You’ll need to work independently, managing tight deadlines while planning and executing a content calendar. The role is dynamic and requires flexibility to capture both academic and fun aspects of the summer school experience. PERSONAL SPECIFICATION The safety of children is our top priority, and it is essential to uphold the high standards associated with working for a prestigious school brand. We expect staff to maintain excellent personal standards, being friendly, positive, and approachable while consistently demonstrating professionalism and composure. Staff must be capable of handling sensitive situations with discretion, adhering to confidentiality and data protection policies. Strong organizational skills, the ability to be positive role models, and a commitment to fostering a supportive and collaborative working environment are also key expectations. THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE Excellent content creation skills and experience using creative tools such as CapCut and Canva Photography and videography experience (own camera preferred) Strong written communication skills and a keen eye for detail Experience writing engaging captions for social media A track record of managing social media accounts (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok) Initiative and independence to develop and execute creative content plans An outgoing, energetic personality and the ability to engage with children from a range of nationalities and cultures An interest in and understanding of summer school nature Excellent organisational and time management skills The ability to follow brand guidelines and safeguarding best practices in all content Flexibility to work evenings and occasional weekends (with time off in lieu) PACKAGE Residential and non-residential options available, up to £850 per week for a period of 6 weeks Camp dates from Monday 30th June to Sunday 10th August plus 2 prep days in June (1 online and 1 at our office in London) and 1 wrap-up day in mid-August by mutual agreement. Non-residential applicants must live within a commutable distance of camp venues in Surrey. Travel expenses will be paid up to the value of £30 per day (at 45p per mile). Monday-Friday accommodation at camp venues and 3 meals per day included for residential staff. HOW TO APPLY Include your CV and a short letter (1 page max) answering the questions: Why would you be great in this role? How would you approach creating social media content that reflects both the academic excellence and the fun, active lifestyle of students attending Charterhouse Summer School?
