St Mary's is a nurturing school situated in the beautiful Cotswold market town of Tetbury. We have a Forest School onsite, a huge field used all year round for den building, digging and exploring and an all-weather running track. As a school community we have a collective commitment to developing healthy and active children and we put children at the heart of all we do.
We are a 2 form entry school, rated 'Good' by Ofsted and most classes are taught in single year group classes.
We are seeking a capable and enthusiastic 1:1 teaching assistant to support children with communication and learning needs.
This contract is for 21 hours a week, term time only and is to start on the 6th January 2025. It is a temporary position as it is to cover maternity leave.
The ideal candidate will be someone who is able to:
1. be genuinely committed to developing caring and trusting relationships and supporting pupils with specific needs in accessing their education;
2. motivate and encourage children;
3. be calm, patient and adaptable;
4. work in class to support teaching and learning;
5. implement intervention programmes;
6. assist with providing verbal/written feedback as appropriate;
7. communicate well;
8. support the Christian ethos of the school.
