About the role:
Our Social Media Team are looking to appoint a customer-focused, organised and enthusiastic Social Media & Customer Experience Co-ordinator to deliver excellent customer service and help to drive student recruitment targets and income generation for the University.
The role will be based in the wider Marketing team which sits in the External Relations service at The University of Central Lancashire comprising; Student Recruitment, Communications and Events, International Recruitment, UK and International Partnerships and Widening Participation. Our Marketing team plays a critical role in supporting the University’s wider strategic priorities to establish the brand and profile of the University on a regional, national and international basis, whilst enhancing the quality of communications and marketing to our wide range of stakeholders.
The role holder will be expected to provide exceptional customer service across the University’s core social media channels, acting as the first point of contact for inquiries and assisting various stakeholders. The position requires proactive engagement with external communities across all platforms, contributing to the development of organic social media strategies. It also includes creating high-quality video and written content to support social media efforts. As a collaborative team member, the individual will work closely with colleagues and stakeholders, while also taking ownership of administrative and logistical tasks to ensure the efficient operation of the small but high-performing Social Media Team.
About you:
The ideal candidate will have experience of working in a social media or marketing role as well as B2C environment particularly in a customer service role. They will possess an undergraduate degree or have equivalent experience in communications, digital, or social media marketing. Candidates will have strong writing skills to create engaging and persuasive content for a targeted audience together with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Due to the diverse nature of Marketing and the nature of social media, from time to time and on an ad hoc basis, occasional evening and weekend work will be a feature of this role. The successful post-holder should have a flexible approach to work and working hours to meet the needs of the business.
