An exciting opportunity has arisen to become a Senior FP&A Manager within the newly formed Engineering, Technology & Safety (ET&S) team. ET&S includes 14,000 of our wonderful engineers and is responsible for c£2bn of engineering spend on research and development and products per annum. This is a demanding but rewarding role and you will be joining the team at a challenging and energising time as we drive to beat our mid-term targets as set out in our Capital Markets Day in November 2023.
Reporting directly to the SVP Finance for ET&S and acting as a partner to the Divisional Finance Leads for ET&S, this role is pivotal in ensuring that we meet our performance expectations by providing key insights from our financial plans and long-term forecasts and where we need to make interventions to senior leadership.

What you will be doing:
In this role you will provide insight on financial performance to support decision making and performance management, determining where interventions are required:
1. Installing strong planning, forecasting and reporting for ET&S, which is agile and relevant
2. Looking ahead and pre-empting what is needed to engage others
3. Defining the right level of reporting and forecasting information to make a difference
4. Analysing actual results and variances of our engineering spend and associated external funding
5. Identifying and influencing interventions to optimise performance and achieve targeted KPIs
6. Articulating financial performance in the context of external data and business drivers
7. Collaboratively and constructively challenging our colleagues to help deliver financial commitments
8. Monitoring and driving compliance against group requirements
9. Working closely with our transformation team to ensure changes to our new ways of working are sustainable and relevant
Who we are looking for:
1. Highly analytical with a curious mindset

3. Senior Finance leader who can influence across different levels of the organisation
4. Solid grasp of the accounting policies and construct of financial statements
5. Strong communication and presentation skills (written, verbal)
6. A strong planner
7. Delivery focused
8. Organised, flexible and resilient
9. Professionally qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) or equivalent
