Rated Good by Ofsted, the school is seeking an enthusiastic and reliable individual to take on the role of Cover Supervisor, supporting the Humanities department and covering lessons across various subjects. This role provides invaluable classroom experience and is ideal for graduates considering a career in teaching. The Role: As a History Graduate Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for delivering pre-set lesson materials, ensuring students remain engaged in their learning, and managing classroom behaviour. While you will not be required to plan or mark work, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the continuity of education during teacher absences. Key responsibilities include: Supervising lessons, particularly within the Humanities department, ensuring students follow the work set by the teacher. Managing classroom behaviour in line with school policies. Providing guidance and support to students where necessary. Creating a positive and focused learning environment. Reporting lesson progress and any incidents to the relevant teaching staff. The Ideal Candidate: We are looking for someone who: Holds a degree in History or a related subject. Has a keen interest in education and supporting young people. Can confidently manage classroom behaviour and encourage student participation. Is adaptable, proactive, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced school environment. Previous experience working with young people (in schools, tutoring, or other settings) is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided.
