Following an intensive bid process, we are delighted to announce that MJ Quinn have been awarded the OSA (Openreach Service Agreement) contract which brings significant growth across areas such as Mid North Wales, South Wales, The Marches, West Mid Staff and Central regions. This is one of the most significant contract awards in the company’s history and represents a major win in the face of stiff competition from other major national suppliers.
OSA is an updated version of Openreach’s former ONSA contract and includes full regional ownership of most network upgrade programmes, network maintenance and repair activities on behalf of Openreach.
Reporting to and directed by the Area Manager, you will support our civils delivery teams to ensure all safety, compliance and quality standards are met through a defined audit and inspection regime set out by the business, liaising with our clients and members of the public on a daily basis.
Key Responsibilities
The key responsibilities of this role include but are not limited to the following tasks:
* To always promote a positive and professional image of the department by adhering to company policies, procedures, and standards.
* Supervision of infield day-to-day project delivery within geographical area, including delivery to client requirements, safety, quality, street works, supplier performance and improvement across supply chain and direct labour resource.
* Ensuring that service level measures are achieved on a basis by both sub-contractors and direct labour resource and manage risk according should this arise.
* Work with the supply chain on a daily/weekly basis ensuring that all works are fluid for execution against the required service level measures.
* Ensure all emergency response works are made safe within the required 2-hour response time.
* Engage with local authorities to ensure a positive working relationship.
* Be the infield catalyst for works being executed to the correct standard and therefore preventing any Section 72 Defects.
* Take responsibility to ensure that all Section 72 Defects are remedied within 14 calendar days.
* Promote a safe working culture by executing a minimum of 2 site safety checks a week.
* Investigate accidents, incidents, near misses, quality failures and service deterioration trends.
* Raising and following up on non-conformance reports, to ensure that any actions identified are pursued and resolved.
To attend joint site meetings at the request of customers or utility providers for hot job assessments.
Relationships
To be effective in this role, the Civils Supervisor will need to:
* Maintain and build up a good working relationship with internal and external stakeholders including colleagues, customers, suppliers, and senior management teams.
* Be able to work efficiently and effectively as part of a team.
* Communicate effectively with all other departments.
* Complete weekly measurements with clients, supplying supporting documentation to the PMO.
* Deliver quality service to the client ensuring that performance standards and contractual KPI’s and SLAs are met.
Communicate closely and provide timely and accurate periodical reports to PMO defining projects progress, problems, and solutions.
Personal Specification
To be successful in this role, the Civils Supervisor will:
* Have strong planning, organisation, and monitoring abilities.
* Hold a full driving license.
* Be available for an on-call rota.
* Be computer literate.
* Have strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Enjoy a challenge, have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate at all levels.
* Have a strong orientation towards quality, safety, and continuous improvement.
* Have the ability to prioritise work, work well under pressure, meet deadlines and manage business expectations.
* Be adaptable and flexible in your approach to work.
* Hold a full UK Driving License which has been continuously held for 12 months or more, with no more than 6 points.
* Have a legal right to work in the UK.
To be successful in this role, the Civils Supervisor will have:
* Knowledge of Openreach networks, and particularly a civils and UG background would be advantageous.
* Experience in the related industry.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
* NRSWA Supervisor Units.
