Welooking for undergraduates to join our Chief Controls Office Placement where you will spend time working across the Societyinternal control and process frameworks. Youhave the opportunity to assess whether controls protect the Society for the range of financial and non-financial risks faced, including Market and Credit risk, Economic Crime risks, and evolving Technology\/Security risks such as Cyber. You will also look at how our teams ensure that our customers receive the right outcomes.Weneed you to build rewarding relationships across the organisation, and externally, to understand customer needs, resolve problems and support the delivery of the Society blueprint. Youreceive upfront training with a focus on specific core skills and individual projects. You will also receive soft skills training to ensure you develop a rounded skillset. You will receive an individual learning pathway when you join your teams to ensure you are able to continuously develop your skills and will receive broad exposure to Nationwiderisk framework. Youalso attend development workshops and complete a project with other Industrial Placements aligned to our Social Impact strategy.The Chief Controls Office plays a critical role in ensuring Nationwide put our customers first, and we take our responsibility to protect our customers and their money very seriously. We are made up of several specialised teams, each playing a critical role in maintaining our trusted reputation:Our Control Testing teams are responsible for planning and delivering Society-wide comprehensive controls testing of the critical controls which underpin Nationwiderisk policies. We are also responsible for assessing the design adequacy and operating effectiveness of our critical controls environment to identify improvements and support remediation activity undertaken by the business to close controls gaps.Our Customer Outcomes Assurance team is responsible for planning and delivering Society-wide assurance on the management of Conduct and Regulatory risks, the delivery of good customer outcomes and the mitigation of foreseeable and actual customer harm. Reviews focus on customer journeys and, or customer cohorts throughout and at every stage of the product lifecycle as determined by the topic and focus of the review, for all products and customer touchpoints, processes and communications.Our Practice Office enables effective and consistent application of the Operational and Conduct Risk Approach, providing risk insight to senior committees to drive informed decision making at pace.LocationAt Nationwide we offer hybrid working wherever possible.
