The Quality Assurance and Improvement Team require a Fulltime (37 hours per week) within the QA team covering the roles and responsibilities below.
Purpose of the Post:
To provide social work services with specific responsibilities for dealing with more complex cases, including assessment and appropriate management of risks, developing and sharing specialist knowledge with others in a particular area of practice, and for contributing to practice development. The role’s main purpose will be in the Quality Assurance and Improvement Team in supporting service improvement through identifying areas of improvement as well as good practice through Audit.
Responsibilities:
* Align with another Key Link Officer for Partner agencies to develop multi-agency audits and ensure these are regularly undertaken to identify effective and efficient working to ensure Children, Young people and families are receiving the appropriate level and timely support.
* Support the Quality Assurance and Improvement service in arranging case file audits to be selected and distributed to auditors followed by capturing the returned audits, appropriately filing this as per the procedures within the Quality Assurance and Improvement Team currently.
* Support the capturing of child, young people and families feedback in reference to the service they have or are receiving by the different services within Children Social Care in Barnsley.
* Support senior colleagues in identifying and supporting practice development, via their analysis of the findings from audits, reviewing of policy and procedures and identifying creative and supportive protocols in advancing continued professional development amongst practitioners.
* Support service in DIP sampling of the service in respect of identified specific topic area required to be reviewed and dip sampled, as well as analysing the information provided in line with other audit activities.
* Capture through audits and analyse the information to recognise areas of improvement within each service area, in accordance with the policies, procedures and statutory requirements.
* Support the Children in Care service including and not exclusive to Children in Care, Future Directions (Care Leavers), residential services and fostering service.
* Support senior colleagues with the prioritisation, allocation, planning and review of work in accordance with policies, procedures and statutory requirements, contributing to effective budget management, ensuring value for public money and the maximisation of service efficiencies, through quality assurance work.
* Contribute to service monitoring and evaluation, undertaking needs analysis, reviewing availability of resources and development of service practice, policies, and strategies to maintain high quality services.
* Manage high complex cases including their planning and review, promoting independence and early intervention as well as the personalisation agenda and self-directed support to minimise risks and improve quality of life for service users and their carers, ensuring targets are met within agreed timescales.
* Support the Quality Assurance and Improvement Team in any Ofsted related activity including collective information for the evidence bank as well supporting the Local Authority in any Ofsted visits.
* Assist with any other audit activities assigned to the Quality Assurance and Improvement Service.
You must have:
* A professional qualification in social work.
* Social Work England registration.
* Post qualified experience.
* Enhanced DBS/Update service.
* References required for the last 5 years of employment.
