We are growing our Evidence and Evaluation team to reflect the ambitious programme the North East Combined Authority has to transform our region. We are looking for a data specialist to lead our analytical team and to drive forward our organisational ambition to be data driven and evidence-led.

We aim to utilise data and evidence in our policy making, strategy development and programme delivery and our team is central to providing economic insights and intelligence on the region.
We are looking for a qualified data specialist to lead our analytical team and develop a comprehensive programme focused on integrating data and analysis into decision-making processes. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in leveraging data to drive decision-making, enhance service delivery, and improve outcomes for our region and communities.
This role involves providing economic evidence and insights, managing data analysis to inform long-term strategies, and promoting the team's expertise in data and evidence.
Communication and translation of outputs will be crucial, ensuring complex data is presented clearly to various audiences, and supporting colleagues and partners in using data effectively. Additionally, the role includes further enhancing the North East Evidence Hub, working with our web developers to maintain its functionality, further expanding its content and raising awareness about its resources.
You will build relationships with colleagues and partners to ensure that data is embedding and support with analysis to inform their work, as well as providing expert advice and guidance. You will champion the use of data and analysis to illustrate the value and impact of linking evidence and policy together, while remaining curious and innovative to maximise analytical outputs.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a collaborative and strategic environment, enjoys high autonomy, and excels at developing new analysis and working methods, including leveraging external expertise.
