Job overview
To sustain and support our current Ambulance Vehicle Preparation (AVP) requirements we are pleased to offer a vacancy opportunity to join our existing dedicated AVP Operative based in Doncaster.
This role offers competitive out of hours unsocial rates on top of basic salary indicated. You can expect on average, per annum, in the region of £6,000 in unsocial payments subject to NHS terms and conditions. Please contact us for further information.
Main duties of the job
Duties to include:
Ambulance Vehicle Preparation Operatives process ambulance service vehicles in a prescribed and controlled way that ensures each ambulance is fully equipped and prepared to attend and treat a patient. The role is a key operational support function, which ensures patient safety whilst supporting Operations in meeting its targets.
Main duties include detailed cleaning and Infection Prevention and Control activities, checking and inspecting medical and lifting & handling equipment, restocking all consumables, and completing vehicle checks. Other duties include the preparation of consumables, stock control, re-fuelling and moving vehicles across various locations, recording all daily activities and the repatriation of equipment from Hospital Trusts.
No experience is required as full training will be given. An initial 4-week Training package forms part of your Learning and Development.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
A Driving License with C1 Class is Essential - You will be required to confirm within your application that you hold a full C1 Category on your license which is valid within the UK.
The working days and times are dependent upon current provision required to meet operational/patient demand and this can include Bank Holidays, weekends and nights, preparing our frontline operational vehicles and maintaining our provision on a 24-hour basis. A significant percentage of our Ambulance Vehicle Preparation is completed overnight. However, night and weekend working does attract unsocial payments which could mean pay increasing to approximately £28K per annum depending on shift patterns.
Holiday entitlement is between 27 days and 33 days (pro-rata) depending on length of NHS service plus bank holidays on a pro-rata basis.

* Previous cleaning experience
* Working knowledge of COSHH / Risk Assessments
* Previous knowledge of Infection Control Procedures

* Driving licence with full Category C1 entitlement, valid in the UK.
* Ability to work individually or as part of a team
* Ability to work unsocial hours on a 7 day/24 hour shift rota system
* Previous experience of implementing effective Infection Prevention and Control measures
Qualifications and Knowledge
* Good literacy and numerical skills in order to pass the required examinations and tests
