Join the Arriva Road Transport Services Team as a Weekend Coordination Assistant Location: Derby (hybrid working arrangement – home working with monthly office visits for team meetings) Contract: Fixed Term until December 2025 Working Hours : 24 hours per week • Friday 13:00 – 17:00 • Saturday and Sunday – 10 hours per day (variable start times which will be given up to 8 weeks in advance) Salary: £26,000 per annum pro-rata Who We Are Arrive Road Transport Services oversee and manages all aspects of coaches, buses, taxis and coordinators which are provided for rail replacement, special events, school support and train crew support across the portfolio of customers within ARTS in both a pre-planned and on an emergency basis which currently covers Cross Country, Grand Central and Northern in additional to ad hoc external work. The Role Reporting to the Coordination Manager, you will be responsible for delivering a safe, effective, and efficient resourcing and planning management service for all Coordinators working for ARTS. What You'll be doing Work effectively to ensure all coordinators are signed on/off for duty Regular welfare checks throughout coordinators shifts (meeting Lone Worker risk assessment requirements) To work effectively to cover any absences which may arise with the RR Coordinators during their shifts To check and ensure all RR Coordinators booked on for shifts have the relevant tools to conduct their shifts. Liaise with Senior Coordinators to conduct spot checks, regular station visits and to be their main point of contact in order to react to any issues on ground immediately. To be the main point of contact for Coordination team on the ground, by providing a single communication point with ARTS control team and the TOCs control team to aide in handling incidents. Assisting in the completion of onboarding new Coordinators Assisting in the organisation of training for Coordinators in line with their duties and assisting with the training Promote good working relationships within the coordinators pool. Ensure all shifts are monitored and correct, and all are allocated on the PORTAL as well as on manual payroll system. Provide organised, time effective, administrative support to ensure efficient operation of the Coordination Team What You Bring Numerate and methodical skills with a strong eye for detail Good communication skills Strong IT skills, particularly in the use of Excel, PowerPoint and Word Good data input skills Minimum grade requirement (or equivalent to) C or above in English and Maths Proactive in resolving issues in a timely manner. Able to work under pressure. Decision making skills. Team working abilities.
