As the Deputy Head of Education for Driving Education, you will play a key role in enhancing driving standards and reducing accidents across the Trust. Working closely with the driving education and fleet management teams, you will provide expert knowledge and leadership in designing, implementing, and evaluating initiatives aimed at improving driver safety and driving education. Your responsibilities will include overseeing accident reduction strategies, post-incident training evaluations, and ensuring continuous improvements and regulatory compliance in driving education across the Trust. Main duties of the job
This role offers the opportunity to be at the forefront of innovative safety initiatives within the Trust. As the Deputy Head of Education for Driving Education, you will lead the driving education team, working across divisions to develop resources and drive improvements in driving standards. You will collaborate with the Fleet Manager and both National and Local accident reduction groups to ensure the effective design, implementation, and evaluation of accident reduction programmes. Your leadership will be key in ensuring EMAS maintains a strong focus on road safety and operational efficiency.

Qualifications
Essential
* Full clean driving license for motor vehicles Category B & C1 (manual)
* Hold a relevant qualification in Collision investigation
* Hold an emergency service driving instructional qualification (section 19 compliant)
* Driving Standards Agency Approved Driving Instructor Qualification
* Hold a masters level qualification in a relevant subject or evidence of equivalent experience or training or is working towards
* Management or leadership qualification or demonstrable evidence within previous work roles
Desirable
* Full clean driving licence for motor vehicles category D1
* Postgraduate teaching qualification (PGCE)
* Qualification in assessment (example CAVA) and internal quality assurance (IQA)
Experience
Essential
* 3 years' experience of either emergency driving education and management of occupational road risk
* Attendance at national meetings related to accident reduction, driving standards and driving education
* Managing budgets
* Presenting evidence in legal proceedings
* Current experience of collision investigation
* Working with practitioners experienced in Collision Investigation and/or driving standards
* Evidence of autonomous work on national accident reduction projects
Desirable
* Previous experience of managing road risk
* Chairing meetings
