The Role
We are seeking a suitably experienced, creative, and dynamic Teacher of Food and Nutrition (and Design Technology) who can inspire both students and colleagues while contributing to the continued growth of our diverse curriculum. Food Technology is a vital part of our academic offering, currently taught to four IGCSE groups and as part of the BTEC Hospitality program for A Level students. This role provides an exciting opportunity to shape the future of this subject and inspire a love for learning in a vibrant and supportive environment.
We are looking for a teacher with a passion for inspiring students in the wonders of food, nutrition, and design technology, while shaping thinking and practice as we continue striving for excellence across all areas of our school. You will be a tireless advocate for your subject, bringing forward-thinking approaches to development, change, and improvement. This year, we are embarking on curriculum development through innovative conceptual approaches. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to contribute to meaningful curriculum design as we redefine what and how students learn during their time with us.
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
* A comprehensive record of teaching experience (KS3-KS5) and a strong knowledge of the National Curriculum for England, including (I)GCSE and A-Level Food and Design Technology specifications.

Key Responsibilities:
· Demonstrate up-to-date knowledge and experience of teaching Food and Nutrition, up to A Level, with a commitment to inspiring curiosity and excellence in students.
· Provide a relevant and challenging learning experience for all students.
· Develop innovative pedagogical approaches within planning, teaching, and learning, particularly in Food and Nutrition.
· Support the development of scientific literacy and critical thinking skills in bi and multilingual students.
· Ensure students are cared for in a happy, safe, and stimulating environment.
· Maintain accurate formative and summative assessment records that reflect student progress and link to learning objectives.
· Work with the community to develop good relationships and foster parent/school partnerships.
Essential:
· Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
· Recent and up-to-date knowledge of the National Curriculum for England.
· Experienced teacher of Food and Nutrition, up to A Level.
· Experienced teacher of Design Technology, up to IGCSE.
· At least three years’ experience as an outstanding school practitioner in a high-performing UK or international school.
· Experience of using formative assessment systems to evaluate and improve the curriculum.
· A team player, able to foster trust and offer challenge to colleagues.
· Excellent communication skills
Desirable:
· Evidence of leading extra-curricular opportunities related to Food and Nutrition and the wider technology curriculum.
· Knowledge, understanding, and experience of concept-led curricula at KS3.
· Experience of innovative curriculum design and development at the secondary level.
